Charles Gaylord Brunke

Charles Gaylord Brunke, 79, of Baroda passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at home in the care of his loving family.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, August 8, 2022 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service. A celebration of life will be held following the service at the Brunke Home. Chuck was born on February 26, 1943 in Baroda, the son of the late Lloyd and Lydia (Johns) Brunke. On August 27, 1960 he married the love of his life, Deloris Bishop and they shared 62 years together. After high school, Chuck was employed as a plumber at Baroda Hardware for 20 years. After leaving the plumbing business, Chuck worked as a maintenance superintendent at Lakeside Manufacturing, Stevensville. He was passionate about traveling across the country, seeing the sights and camping along the way with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He liked to host the 4^th of July Party and the family reunions at the Brunke Homestead. He was an avid wood worker and a meticulous perfectionist. He made some beautiful pieces that he enjoyed giving to friends and family.

Chuck is survived by his wife: Deloris; children: Dennis Brunke, Debra (Grady) Kelton, Dan (Mandy) Brunke; grandchildren: Denise Shallan, Kala Shemenski, Josh Adams, Kyle (Genevieve) Hartline, Beau (Rachel) Hartline, Carter Brunke; 12 great grandchildren; and siblings: Delores Stacey, Joanne Langland, Barbara Brunke, Lisa (Al) Lyons, Johanna (Frank) Kelly, Robert (Diane) Brunke, William Brunke, Arthur Brunke, Howard (Renea) Brunke, and Edwin (Linda) Brunke.

Chuck was preceded in death by his siblings: June Jones, Maybelle Dinges, Jean Estes, and Juanita Wallis.
