Carol Hanson Pizzi, 85, of Stevensville formerly of Elmhurst, IL, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2020 at The Willows, St. Joseph, MI, with family by her side. A graveside service will be held 10 am Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery, 765 Prospect Street, Fall River, MA 02722. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Carol was born on June 29, 1935 in Queens, New York to Elmer H. and Bertha E. (Bishop) Bridge. She was an only child and graduated from Weymouth High School in Massachusetts. Beloved and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, her greatest joy was connecting with family and friends. She was intuitive and genuinely interested in the lives of others and held each of those relationships close to her heart.
Carol was a homemaker, raising three children. She especially enjoyed travelling around the country with family where she made every trip full of fun, laughter, and fond memories. She loved animals, collecting antiquities and items of value, bowling, golfing, watching the Patriots and the Kentucky Derby. Music set her in motion as she loved to dance and sing along.
Carol will be most remembered for her sweet gentle spirit, kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. She had a wonderful sense of humor, spunk, a contagious giggle and unforgettable twinkle in her eyes.
Carol is survived by children, James (Bridget) Pizzi of Spring, TX, William (Ruth) Pizzi of West Chicago, IL, and Elizabeth (Lee) Van Ginhoven of Stevensville, MI. She was the proud grandmother of six: Nicholas Pizzi, Philip Pizzi, Paul (Allison) Pizzi, Daniel (Moriah) Pizzi, Natalie Contreras and Jonathan (Yun) Church; along with three great-grandchildren: Marco, Arthur and Jack.
Carol was predeceased by her mother in 1935 and her father in 1982 and will be reunited with them at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Carol and her family are most grateful for the love shared by many friends and family members throughout her life and those who visited and kept in touch during her later years. You were deeply loved. Carol and her family also appreciated the incredible love and care provided by the staff at the Titan Center and The Willows.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI.
