Betty Schaffert-Pallack

Betty Georgia Davis Schaffert Pallack, 86 of Bridgman passed away July 11, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial services will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church St., Bridgman with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family following the service in the church Life Center for lunch and fellowship. Memorial contributions may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Life Center.

Betty was born May 19, 1927 in Aurora Nebraska, to David and Ruth (Price) Davis. She married Rubert George Schaffert on June 2, 1946. After moving to Bridgman, they owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store from 1953-1985. After Rubert’s death she married Seymour Pallack on August 20, 1995.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Club 20, Women’s Club and Lion’s Club.

Survivors include her husband, Seymour; Children: Ruthie (Rod) Rohrbach, Orange Beach, AL, David (Kristy) Schaffert, Charlotte, NC, Virginia (Bruce) Charleston, Baroda, MI, Drue (Linda) Schaffert, Benton Harbor, MI and Jonathan Schaffert, Watervliet, MI.; Stepchildren: Sharon Vonk, Rich (Sherry) Vonk both of Bridgman, Shirley (Larry) Cole and David (Anne) Vonk both of St. Joseph; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends..

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings - Virginia, Carol, Jack, David, Jimmy and Wallace.
