Betty Litaker

Betty Sue Litaker, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, IN on March 17, 2011.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday from 4-7 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI. A funeral and burial will follow in Heber Springs, AR.

Betty was born December 1, 1932 in Wilburn, AR, the daughter of the late Robert and Mable (Snelling) Johnson. On December 17, 1952, she married Oather Litaker in Baroda, MI and they shared these past 58 years together.

Betty was a wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her family. Her favorite personal pasttimes were reading and playing the penny slots. Her grandchildren could never visit without finding a plate of her famous chocolate chip cookies or homemade fudge. She especially enjoyed making cocoa for Shane.

Survivors include her husband Oather; children - Angela (Joe) King of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Karen Litaker of St. Joseph, MI; grandchildren - Ryan, Erin, Kevin King, Joseph Williams, Shane Litaker; great granddaughter - Cecilia King; brothers - David (Donna) Johnson of AR, Curtis Johnson of AR.

Betty was preceded in death by her sister Pauline Litaker formerly of St. Joseph, MI, another sister and 5 brothers.
