Bertha Shaw

Bertha Mae Shaw, 75, of Sodus passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Lakeland Hospice.

Mrs. Shaw was born March 21, 1933 in South Bend the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Rubashaw) Dover. In 1954 she married Charles Joice and he preceded her in death in 1959. She married William Shaw in 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1985.

Survivors include 12 children – Joyce (Jerry) Dover and Brenda Joice of Florida, Mike Joice of Alabama, Peggy (Dave Anderson) Finehout of Baroda, Willard Shaw of Benton Harbor, Jess (Judy) Shaw of Sodus, Laura (Robert) Perkins and Jack (Beth Miskey) Shaw of Alabama, Tracy (Steve) Scott of Kentucky, Margaret (Tom) Pugh and Ruby (Mike) Corwel of Three Oaks, and Kelly Shaw of Sodus; 33 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters – Helen Ott and Lorraine Robbins.

Bertha was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Joice; and eight brothers and sisters.
