Bernice Matilda Dehring, 90, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Box 26, Bridgman, MI 49106.
Bernice was born on August 20, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Albert and Matilda (Langness) Sass. On December 8, 1945 she married Roy G. Dehring and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1995. Bernice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman and led the choir for over fifty years as it’s director. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. She was a bookkeeper and retired from Siemans in Bridgman. Bernice also enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include her children: Larry (Lynda) Dehring of Baroda, Jere (Jeannie) Dehring of Bridgman; grandchildren: Ravin Dehring, Lance Dehring, Kristin (Julian) Railton, Jeremy Dehring and Stephen Dehring; great grandchildren: Renae Dehring-Stanley, Isabella Dehring-Stanley, Ava and Hudson Railton.
Bernice was also preceded in death by three sisters.
