Bernard Alec “Bud” Lindquist, 85, of Harbert passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 6, 2014 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with Reverend George Lawton officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2 - 4 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to RV Public Schools - “Clothing for Kids” fund, 15480 Three Oaks Road, Three Oaks, MI 49128.
Bud was born December 29, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late Joseph W and Berthine (Mudge) Lindquist. On September 11, 1948, he married Arlene Bernice Charn and they shared 62 years together until her death on June 27, 2010. Bud was an expert flooring installer for most of his working life. He was a Mason, and a volunteer firefighter for the Sawyer Fire Department. Following retirement, Bud helped younger kids with reading and just spending time one on one at Chikaming and Three Oaks Elementary Schools. His trademark, “Keep Smiling” will be missed.
Survivors include his children - Craig (Paula) Lindquist of Oxford, MI, Kent (Lauri) Lindquist of Sawyer, and Wendy Lindquist of Chicago; four grandchildren - Joanna and Kate Lindquist, Joshua (Stephanie) and Micah Lindquist; three greatgrandchildren - Alison, Sarah and Andrew; and one sister - Meredith Mathey.
