Benjamin Franklin Tym, 80, of Bridgman, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 17, 2016 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman with Reverend Andreas Hannich officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 1 - 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Ben was born July 11, 1935 in Paris, Illinois, son of the late James Ellis and Lilla Jane (Shaw) Tym. On September 6, 1958, Benjamin married Carol “Sue” Florence Yount and they shared 57 years together. Ben served his country in the United States Army. He worked at various Tool & Die shops in the area and retired from his own shop, Tym Tool. Ben loved farming and golf.
Ben is survived by his wife: Sue; children: Benjamin Tym III of Stevensville, James Tym of Baroda, Julie (Al) Nitz of Baroda, Jane (Jeffery) Nitz of Baroda; grandchildren: Alana, Josh, Ryon, Amanda, Liza, Sara; great granddaughters: Paige, Morgan; sisters: Jane Higgins of Richland, MI, and Elizabeth Zilke of Bridgman.
Ben was also preceded in death by a son: Charles Tym in 1965.
