Barbara Stanard

Barbara Marie Stanard, 91, of Bridgman peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, January 18 , 2014 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI, with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the service.

Barbara was born March 9, 1922 in Forest Park, Illinois the daughter of the late James J. and Frances Zelec Hojda. Barbara attended Sacred Heart Academy in Lisle, IL. She worked at Studebaker Aviation during the war, at Adco in Bridgman and 22 years at Heath Company. She and Vernon spent their retirement years wintering in Las Vegas.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Vernon “Doyle”; sons Chris of Ann Arbor and Robert of Kalamazoo. Survivors also include her grandchildren Julie of Richmond, VA and Kimberly of Fresno, CA; great grandchildren Jacob and Savannah of Richmond, VA
