Barbara Hopkins

Barbara Ellen  Hopkins, 89, of  Michigan City, formerly of Stevensville, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Rittenhouse Village, in Michigan City.

Funeral services will be held 6 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2020  at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family 4 - 6 PM  prior to the service. Barbara  was born October 27, 1930 in St. Joseph the daughter of the late Elwood and Mable  (DeMorrow) Hopkins.   On March 8, 1947 she married  Lyle Vern  Hopkins, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2006.  She and Lyle spent winters in Bayside, Texas for 23 years. They belonged to the Friendship Club of Stevensville, and the St. Joseph and River Valley Senior Centers.  Barbara enjoyed dolls, arts & crafts and animals.

Survivors include her three  children – Linda Hopkins, John Hopkins, and Richard Hopkins; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son Larry Hopkins; granddaughters: Melissa Hopkins and Angela Kaczmarek; daughter-in-law: Cynthia Hopkins; siblings: Timothy Hopkins, Beverly Fredericks, Peggy Emery and Marlene Jeschke.
