Adeline Nicely

Adeline Nicely, 90 of Glendora passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 Glendora Road with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Weesaw Township Cemetery, Buchanan. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1733 Glendora Road, Buchanan, Michigan 49107.

Adeline was born May 10, 1922 in Baroda, Michigan the daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Nitz) Trapp. In 1941 she married Theodore Rosenthal and he passed away in 1949. She then married Walter Nicely in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She had a special talent for cooking and treasured the special times when the family got together. Adeline was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora and its Ladies League. Attending church made her feel calm and at peace. Adeline worked at Bendix Corporation in South Bend for over 35 years.

Survivors include her children - Robert (Linda) Rosenthal of Scotts, Michigan, Leroy (Ollie Jane) Rosenthal of Three Oaks, Ronald (Kathy) Rosenthal of Niles, David (Cheryl) Nicely of Three Oaks, Daniel Nicely of Baroda, Walter Nicely Jr. of South Bend, Indiana, Richard (Joyce) Nicely of South Bend, Indiana; and a brother - Herbert (Clara) Trapp; and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Adeline was also proceeded in death by children - Dorothy Murray and Virgil Nicely; and sisters Margaret Crowly and Marie Heyn.
