Aaron Olmstead

Aaron Michael Olmstead, 34, of Buchanan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2015.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, February 6, 2015 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI, with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to The Humane Society of SW Michigan, 641 S. Crystal, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Aaron was born September 30, 1980 in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of Richard L. and Gwendolyn M. (Turner) Olmstead. On August 20, 2011 he married Laurel Dine. He was a 1999 graduate of River Valley High School. Aaron was a mechanic and worked for the City of South Bend in the Central Services Division for the past five years. He enjoyed camping and riding his dirt bikes. He loved all animals. Aaron loved working with his hands and took pride that he could fix anything. It was important to Aaron that he was able to take care of himself and his family.

Survivors include his wife Laurel; his parents: Richard and Gwen Olmstead of Buchanan; his grandmother: Mildred Olmstead of Galien; his sister: Amber Saric of Germany; Laurel’s parents: Scott and Karen Dine of Stevensville; Laurel’s grandmother: Doris Beezley of St. Joseph; his brother-in-law: Seth (Diane) Dine of Stevensville; many life long friends; Potter his dog he loved and Puma the cat he tolerated.
